What began as a passion for live-fire cooking grew into one of Toronto's most beloved BBQ destinations. At Cherry Street Bar-B-Que, meats are cooked low and slow over live oak fires, blending classic Southern BBQ traditions with the diverse flavours that make Canada unique.

For chef and pitmaster Lawrence LaPianta, BBQ has always been more than cooking. What started with backyard cookouts became decades spent learning from pitmasters, travelling BBQ circuits across the American South, and chasing a deeper understanding of the craft.

That journey eventually led Cherry Street Bar-B-Que to earn MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Award for four consecutive years, making it the only BBQ restaurant in Canada to receive the honour.
